Our Lighthouse Ministry is a key component of our discipleship process at First Family. At the same time, Lighthouse Leaders are many times on the frontline of meeting the shepherding needs of our church family. There are times when the needs of a group require more focused attention when it comes to group studies and discussion.

To help meet this need, our elders have developed Growth Tracks available to our Lighthouse Leaders. Using the resources available via RightNow Ministry, we have curated a list of Video Bible Studies to address the needs of FFC’ers as the need arises.

Conversational Evangelism – David Geisler (7 Weeks) Link

Traditional witnessing involves laying out the truth and guiding a person to understand and accept it, but the awareness of the basic Christian principles has changed and so have the needs of pre-believers. With a passion for people, Dr. David Geisler shares an engaging, conversational approach to evangelism as he addresses: What makes old models of witnessing ineffective in today’s culture? Why must evangelism start with relational pre-evangelism?

How can I ask questions, listen attentively, and understand what someone believes? Ways to identify the real barriers to belief in order to build a bridge to the Gospel. How to keep dialogue going with different personality types.

Viewers will discover how God uses their everyday encounters for greater open doors to share the Gospel in ways that some may have thought wasn’t possible.

Oneness Embraced – Tony Evans (6 Weeks) Link

Black/white relations in the culture at large and in the church in particular continue to be a stain on America’s respectable reputation. The church has clearly failed and must seek to function by God’s kingdom perspective. In this legacy message, Tony Evans seeks to promote a biblical understanding of the kingdom foundation of oneness by detailing why we don’t have it, what we need to do to get it, and what it will look like when we live it.

Fully encompassing areas of unity, history, culture, the church and social justice, Evans looks to the scriptures for the balance between righteousness and justice that is crucial for applying in this generation and in training the next. A full section on black church history provides a background and understanding that has often been neglected. Recalling experiences in his own evangelical journey, Evans shares kingdom minded approaches for biblical justice and social restoration. To better glorify God and help heal the persistent racial divide, all church members would do well to read and learn from Oneness Embraced.

Thriving in Babylon – Larry Osborne (5 Weeks) Link

These are confusing times for many Christians. Traditional biblical values are not only rejected; it seems as if they’re attacked on every front. It’s all happened at warp speed, leaving many of us spiritually and culturally disoriented or even fearful, frustrated, and angry. How can we spiritually survive in an increasingly spiritually hostile environment? And is there any hope for the next generation?

In this 5-session series, Larry Osborne introduces us to a man forced to live in a fast-changing and godless society. This man faced fears about the future, concern for his safety, and the discouragement of a world that seemed to be falling apart at warp speed. That man was Daniel, and with the power of hope, humility, and wisdom, he not only survived, but thrived.

Each session also includes real-life stories of people struggling to thrive in an ever-increasing godless society. Though Daniel lived thousands of years ago, he has much to teach us today.
